Creating Care

Creating Safe Environments for Children in need of Foster — Supporting foster care professionals and families across Europe

Project timeline

November 2021 – October 2024

Main project goal

The main goal of the project is to invest in the training and support of professionals and foster families, as well as to address gaps in the support provided to foster families after the end of foster care, thereby contributing to the deinstitutionalisation process.

The project focuses on mapping the situation of child care professionals and foster families in order to create tailored training for professionals and improve key skills for foster family recruitment. At the same time, we aim to raise awareness about the need for foster care and fill the gap in post-foster-care family support by developing a dedicated application.

Main project outputs

  • A tool for understanding the perceptions and experiences of professionals in recruiting and communicating with foster families
  • Training on communication skills and strategies in the foster family recruitment process
